The Mathematics Education Group at UMaine consists
of mathematics educators from the Department
of Mathematics and Statistics, the College
of Education and Human Development, and the Onward
Program. The aims of the group are:
- To promote research in mathematics education,
- To provide a forum for the exchange of ideas in mathematics education,
- To seek external funding in support of mathematics education initiatives,
- To develop mathematics curriculum and programs to support the education
of preservice and inservice teachers, and
- To provide outreach to students and educators in local school systems
around the state.
